About Us |
|
Hickory Grove Greenhouses was established in 1917 by John Witt. Paul Eline, Sr. bought the business in 1963 after Mr. Witt passed away. When Paul retired in 1976, he sold Hickory Grove to Jim, his son. Through 1985, the business was primarily mass market wholesale. Jim and his wife, Jann wanted to focus on growing their retail division, so they eliminated the chain stores, kept the churches and florists and added fundraisers to their wholesale customer base. They began advertising regularly and rebuilt what is now the retail sales area. Hickory Grove is still family owned and operated. Joining Jim and Jann is their son, Joel and his wife, Terri. Rounding out the team is a solid core of employees many of whom have been with Hickory Grove for a number of years. Additional help is hired during the busy season. And if you haven’t noticed, we now have two mascots: joining Shelby is her new sidekick, Coal. Hickory Grove is continually updating the greenhouses, striving to become more efficient while continuing to fulfill customers’ wants and needs. We appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have regarding your visit to our website or retail store.
